Public Ethics and Leadership Graduate Certificate
The Public Ethics and Leadership Graduate Certificate is a 12-credit program available to students who have completed an undergraduate degree. Students may enroll in this certificate program while pursuing a graduate degree at FAU or it can be a steppingstone to the Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree.
By enrolling in the Leadership and Ethics Certificate, you will gain:
- Leadership skills to develop effective solutions to problems
- Enhanced capacities in leadership and management
- Improved understanding of ethical conflicts and deliberative approaches
- New networks of colleagues across the South Florida region
For admission to this certificate program, students should have a B average (3.0) at the graduate level or an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0. Students not matriculating at FAU should complete a non-degree-seeking student application through the FAU Registrar’s Office. Earning this certificate requires the completion of two required courses and two elective courses with a grade of "B" or better:
Required:
Public Leadership (PAD 6063) – 3 credits
Ethical and Legal Foundations in the Public Sector (PAD 6436) – 3 credits
Electives:
Your choice from over 8 MPA courses such as Public Budgeting and Finance or
Human Resource Management in the Public Sector
Students who complete this certificate may choose to then enroll in the full MPA program, with these four courses counting toward that degree.
