The Florida Public Archaeology Network's mission is to promote and facilitate the conservation, study and public understanding of Florida's archaeological heritage by way of regional centers including the Southeast and Southwest centers hosted at Florida Atlantic University. These grant-funded regional centers provide out-reach, education, and guidance on archaeological issues to visitors, students, local citizens, and public officials. Each year FPAN at FAU contacts over 10,000 people through classes, lectures, trainings, and participation in public events with a goal of protecting Florida’s past for Florida’s future.
