DeAndra Miller

DeAndra Miller earned her MFA in Fiction from Florida International University in 2022 and a Bachelor's in English from Minot State University in 2019. Her creative work, in both creative non-fiction and fiction, has appeared in So to Speak, The Rectangle, and Tenth Street Miscellany, among others. Her debut young adult contemporary novel, All the Noise at Once, will be published with Simon & Schuster (Atheneum) in Spring 2025 and she is currently represented by Kat Kerr at The Donald Maass Literary Agency. Her creative non-fiction piece, "Bible Study," was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2022. 

At FAU, she is currently an Instructor of English teaching composition, creative writing courses, literary interpretation, and other writing and literature courses; she particularly enjoys fiction and creative non-fiction. DeAndra has developed courses as well, creating a special topics course, LIT 2931: Graphic Novels and Comics as Literature, that explores the depth and literary value of graphic narratives against the greater scope of literature and the literary canon. DeAndra works primarily in young adult contemporary and fantasy novels, lyric essay and memoir, and graphic novels.
