Irma J. Zamora Fuerte

Irma J. Zamora Fuerte is an Assistant Professor of Latinx Literatures in the English Department. She earned her BA in Spanish from Amherst College and her PhD in English from the Ohio State University with a Graduate Interdisciplinary Studies certificate in Latinx Studies. Her main research and academic interests include cross-media representations of Latinidad in the 21st century, transnational discourses of Latinidad, and the inclusion of race, queerness, gender, and citizenship lenses to the understanding of experiences of Latinxs across the hemisphere. She currently serves in the Communications Committee for the Latinx Studies Association.
