A minor in sociology requires earning a grade of C or better in a minimum of four 3000 or 4000-level courses (total of 12 credit hours).  Any courses in the department can be used for the minor. Follow your interests!  Find courses that complement your major; explore social issues that related to your interests.

Completion of 4000-level courses is not required to earn the minor in Sociology. 4000-level courses are intended as research capstone courses for sociology majors; SYA 3010 and SYA 3300 are prerequisites for 4000-level courses.  If a sociology minor or other non-major in sociology wishes to take one of our 4000-level course offerings, they may contact the professor to request a prerequisite override. 4000-level course offerings in the department include the following:
