Fellowships and Grants dependent on background and interests:
ASA Minority Fellowship Program
Since the Minority Fellowship Program’s (MFP) founding in 1974, the program has worked to ensure that a diverse and highly trained workforce is available to assume disciplinary leadership roles and conduct research that is relevant to today’s society. To date, the ASA MFP has supported more than 500 predoctoral sociology graduate students by providing a Fellowship Package that includes a monthly stipend for living expenses, financial support for professional development, travel and accommodations for participation at two ASA Annual Meetings, and networking and mentorship opportunities. Former MFP fellows have gone on to serve as presidents of the American Sociological Association, distinguished faculty, award-winning scholars and teachers, and influential social scientists working in government agencies, non-profit organizations, and businesses.
Public Policy Fellowship Program
Recent college graduates can take advantage of this paid fellowship, which opens doors for talented young Latinos who are interested in gaining public policy experience and advancing their careers. You will spend nine months working in Washington, D.C., with exposure to leaders in congressional offices, federal agencies, national nonprofit advocacy organizations, and the private sector—growing both personally and professionally during your fellowship experience.
