Minor in Forensic Investigation
Program Overview
The Forensic Investigation minor is designed for students interested in the ever-expanding world of forensics. Students with an interest in becoming crime scene technicians, crime lab technicians, criminal lawyers, detectives, and law enforcement professionals will benefit greatly from an understanding of modern forensic techniques, strategies, and capabilities associated with this engaging course of study.
This minor in Forensic Investigation is open to all undergraduate students at Florida Atlantic. The minor consists of 16 credits in courses that include criminal justice, biology, and anthropology. Of the 16 credits, at least 12 must be earned at Florida Atlantic. For the minor in Forensic Investigation, students must complete all courses listed below. Each course must be completed with a minimum grade of "C." Courses within the minor have no specific required path except for CJE 3674, which is a prerequisite for CJE 4247.
Note: The criminal justice courses for the forensic investigation minor cannot be applied toward the criminal justice major requirements. The courses for the minor can only be applied toward upper-level or free electives.
