Florida Atlantic's AI Promptathon 2026

Artificial intelligence is changing the way we work, create, and solve problems—and Florida Atlantic University students are invited to lead the way!

Hosted by the Management Information Systems Association (MISA) in partnership with sponsor Cloudforce, Florida Atlantic’s AI Promptathon 2026 is an exciting, hands-on competition where students team up to tackle real-world business challenges using owlONE, FAU's generative AI tool.

Whether you are a seasoned tech enthusiast or completely new to artificial intelligence, this event is designed to be an accessible, collaborative incubator for big ideas. No prior AI or coding experience is required!

What is the AI Promptathon?

The AI Promptathon is an interactive event where students explore practical applications of AI across various disciplines. Working in teams of up to four, participants will leverage generative AI to develop innovative solutions.

Participants can register as a team or sign up solo—individual competitors will be matched with teammates prior to the main event.

Why Join? $1,000 in Cash Prizes!

Beyond gaining valuable, resume-building AI skills and networking with peers, students will have the chance to win a share of $1,000 in cash prizes, generously sponsored by Cloudforce:

• 🥇 1st Place: $500

• 🥈 2nd Place: $300

• 🥉 3rd Place: $200

Important Event Dates & Schedule

🗓️ Pre-Event Sessions

• MISA Workshop & Teammate Matching: Wednesday, October 7 | 5:15 PM – 6:15 PM (Phil Smith Hall, BU 410)

• owlONE Virtual Onboarding Session: Thursday, October 8 | 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM (Virtual | A calendar invite with the link will be sent to competitors as we get closer to the event.)

🚀 Main Competition Days

• Location: FAU Office Depot Center (OD 101)

• Friday, October 16:

  • 2:00 PM: Check-in & Registration

  • 2:30 PM: Kickoff & Overview

  • 3:00 PM: Competition Officially Begins (On-site help & mentoring available until 7:00 PM)

• Saturday, October 17:

  • 8:00 AM: On-site Facilities Open

  • 10:00 AM: On-site Mentor Help Re-opens

  • 1:00 PM: Final Submissions Due

  • 2:00 PM: Project Presentations & Judging

  • 4:00 PM: Awards Ceremony & Closing Remarks
