Patrick Levine (MA Sociology, 2016)
"I was recently hired as a full-time case worker for a non-profit, that is The Link, in Minneapolis, MN. And, I couldn't be more excited. I'll be working with young adults (ages 18 thru 24) that are at risk of homelessness. The facility where I'm working is well staffed, it's well resourced, and it contains modern, private, and up to date rooms for its 24 clients. I've also been graced with the opportunity to collaborate with members of AmeriCorps, and other local non-profits, like the Minneapolis Alliance for Youth. I'm currently comfortably settled into a picturesque home that's centrally located to nearby trendy coffee shops, eateries, and music venues, and it's only a 15-minute bus ride from downtown Minneapolis. I couldn't be more grateful that everything has turned out so well, and I’m thankful to FAU's Department of Sociology, for providing me with such an excellent education, that has helped to propel me into a progressive, and a gratifying, career. I still aspire to earn my PhD in sociology. To pursue that end, I’m submitting, presenting, and developing relevant research, for conferences and academic journals, and some of those projects, I had started as a graduate student at FAU."
