PROGRAMS OF STRATEGIC EMPHASIS WAIVER 

Important Announcement: Changes to the Programs of Strategic Emphasis Tuition Waiver

Due to recent changes in state law, the Programs of Strategic Emphasis Tuition Waiver will now be applied as a “last dollar” award, effective immediately. 

 

What This Means for You:

  • The waiver will only be applied after all other financial aid (such as grants, scholarships, and third-party payments) has been applied to your tuition.
  • If your financial aid fully covers your eligible tuition, you will not receive the waiver.
  • If you have remaining tuition after aid, the waiver will cover 50% of your remaining out-of-pocket tuition and applicable fees for eligible classes, but it won’t pay the entire amount.   

When the Waiver Will Be Applied:

To ensure accuracy, the waiver will now be applied at the end of the term, after all aid and enrollment changes have been finalized.

Important Note:

Eligible students with remaining out-of-pocket tuition will have their tuition due date deferred until the end of the term, pending waiver processing.

What You Should Do:

  • Review your financial aid package to understand how this change may affect you.
  • If you have questions about your award, refund eligibility, or billing, contact the Tuition & Billing Office as soon as possible.
