Dean of the Graduate College, Robert W. Stackman Jr., Ph.D.

Dear FAU Graduate Students,

The Graduate College is committed to fostering a safe, diverse, equitable and inclusive culture of graduate education within the FAU community. The tragic, senseless murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade and so many others are the most recent evidence of racist violence and social injustice. Their deaths are representative of the long history of systemic racism that infiltrates the American justice system. We know that more work needs to be done and understand that we need to listen more to Black students, faculty, staff and administrators about what we’re getting wrong and support their ideas for concrete action and change instead of over-exaggerating what we’re getting right. We openly invite you to share your thoughts and ideas with us by emailing graduatedean@fau.edu or by submitting our online form here. For further information on Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment, download the Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Regulation or visit the Equity, Inclusion and Compliance website.

Best regards,

Bob Stackman, Dean of the Graduate College
