2026 “Owl” New Play Festival

 April 17-26, 2026


Building on last year’s inaugural festival, Theatre Lab and the Department of Theatre & Dance at Florida Atlantic are pleased to present the second annual Owl New Play Festival! 


On April 11, 2025, Theatre Lab will open their world premiere production of INFERNA by Joanna Castle Miller. The following weekend marks the opening of By Any Other Name, a new musical by Deborah Zoe Laufer & Daniel Green, presented by the Department of Theatre & Dance. Over two weeks in April, theatre-lovers and new play enthusiasts are invited to join us to experience these two shows, lectures/discussions on the themes found in the work, readings of more new plays, and additional programming to be announced later this year. 


You and your friends from around the country are invited to join us for the second year of the “Owl” New Play Festival as we continue to establish Theatre Lab, FAU, and Boca Raton, FL as the premiere destination for new plays!
