Theatre Undergraduate
BFA Musical Theatre
Our BFA in Musical Theatre offers an integral, creative, and inclusive space for students of all backgrounds looking to pursue a career in musical theatre performance. During our four year curriculum our students are trained in a variety of acting, singing, and dancing techniques and disciplines. Our students are given opportunities to perform in our department season, our summer repertory productions, as well as connecting with professional resident theatre company, Theatre Lab. This program requires an audition for admittance. More information on this is available at BFA Program Auditions and Interviews.

The Florida Atlantic Difference
Florida Atlantic University’s BFA Musical Theatre program boasts many offerings that few others can provide. FAU provides the most affordable BFA program in the state of Florida for residents and a competitive price for out of state students. Our students receive a one-hour weekly private voice lesson with an additional studio class after their first year in the program, devoting significant voice training tailored to the individual. In addition to our resident theatre company, Theatre Lab, South Florida is home to over seventy-five professional theatre companies. Students have a unique opportunity to get to know these companies, via their faculty and staff who work diligently in the community, so upon graduation they are ready to work as a professional in the industry.
FAU produces three plays, two musicals, two dance showcases and one film project every academic year. Additionally we produce one play and one musical as part of our summer repertory theatre season. All BFA Musical Theatre students are required to audition for our productions. In addition to our faculty, our Musical Theatre program students are introduced to a variety of guest theatre artists, directors, choreographers, and music directors who are actively working in the field year-round.
