Remote Operated Concrete Mattress Deployment Frame

Overview

Our project aims to deploy two concrete mattresses adjacent on a pipe. To do this, we will use two cameras and a P900 sonar for navigation, and a keyboard for motion control. Concrete mattresses provide a recognized engineering solution for several of the challenges faced in subsea pipeline construction, umbilical deployment and seabed and soil protection/stabilization.

Community Benefit: The benefit of our system would be increased protection to local marine pipelines. The mattresses our system will deploy will aid in reducing pipeline erosion, while providing stability to marine structures.
