Hands to Hands
Choreographed by: Nadya Timofeyeva
Music: Gustav Holst + John Williams
Dancers (FAU Students): Claudia Hammes, Ella James, Sarah Kim, Rachel Perlman, Abby Mietus
Assistant & Guest Artist: Ariel May-Ron

As part of our cultural exchange, we are thrilled to share a new work by Nadya Timofeyeva to introduce Memento. Timofeyeva developed Hands to Hands specifically for students at FAU.
There are incredible benefits to participating in masterclasses by professional guest artists, but the experience becomes even more enriching when you get to take part in the creative process. Our FAU students have the opportunity to study with Timofeyeva and her faculty at Jerusalem Ballet though our study abroad partnership. Students from FAU will get to immerse themselves in the technique classes, rehearsals, conversations, and more.
Please consider supporting our students as they study abroad in Israel at the Jerusalem Ballet.
Thank you,
Aidan S. Nettles
Assistant Professor of Dance

About Nadya Timofeyeva

Nadya is a graduate of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow (Russia).  She began her professional career as a soloist with the Kremlin Ballet.  After immigrating to Israel in 1991 with her mother, Bolshoi Ballet dancer Nina Timofeyeva, she became a leading figure in Israeli ballet as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and company director.  Nadya co-founded the Jerusalem Ballet School and later established the Jerusalem Ballet Company, serving as principal soloist until 2012.  Her choreography includes works inspired by Dante, Lord Byron, Hans Christian Andersen, and others.  She received the Yuri Stern Prize in 2014 for her cultural contributions.  Nadya's work was featured in the 2019 documentary Underground Ballet.
