Sports Biomechanics

Overview

Our main project consists of developing software that allows us to synchronize four different accelerometers plus a dynamometer and gather all the different data and display it on the screen for the user in real time. This data is used to determine a human’s physical limits and capabilities of their biological system.

Community Benefit: Physical injuries have received a lot of attention throughout recent years, including some rising athletes having to retire because of them. This project will help coaches and physical trainers to eventually develop a greater understanding of the expectations imposed on their athletes, and how their movement is affecting them, which will enable them to ensure their safety.
