DTN Wildlife Monitoring

DTN Wildlife Monitoring

Overview

The main goal of this project is to monitor wildlife precisely and without human alteration. Our project is a secure device that is constantly recording/getting information from multiple sensors (temperature, raindrop, UV sensor, humidity, among others). This information is gathered and sent from the transmitter node (wildlife node) to the receiver node (main node) through Wifi/Ethernet and radio communication (LoRa Devices). Once the information is received by the main node, the data is will be processed and displayed on a web interface.

Community Benefit

The problem this product solves is the precise observation of wildlife and atmospheric conditions in regions without pre-existing means of communication such as WiFi, BT (Bluetooth), or Cellular capabilities due to a lack of infrastructure or resources. The Remote Ecosystem Monitoring Station delivers sensory information through Delay Tolerant Network Protocol and LoRa Communication.
