BLOWFELD – Flexible Online Data Collection and Storage
Overview
The objective of our project is to create an application to efficiently collect data and store it while providing data validation and API access to it. Our design is an offline web application contained in Docker. Our system will allow form designers to create tailored forms that can be shared with users using a unique link. All the collected data will be safely stored in specific tables after a data validation check has been passed. Analysts will have access to edit collected data and export it in multiple different formats. An API access will also be implemented to access the data from other open-source applications. Users will be enforced to log in and access will be granted based on their access level and role in the organization.
Community Benefit
Our application can have a huge impact in the way many organizations collect and store their data. By using our system, the number of hours spent creating, collecting, cleaning, and storing data can be reduced substantially. Our design allows access to the collected data through an API which can be used to extract meaningful insights and statistics. In short, our system will increase productivity and profits while reducing human errors.
