Vocalis

Vocalis , Florida Atlantic’s treble ensemble, has been under the direction of Dr. Stacie Lee Rossow for over twenty years. The ensemble, comprised of students from across the university, has been privileged to premiere numerous works, including those by resident composer and collaborative pianist David P. Rossow and Irish composer and founder of Anúna, Michael McGlynn. Vocalis completed their first studio album in the Fall of 2023, which featured a newly commissioned work by McGlynn entitled Wind in the Reeds, and they traveled to Ireland in the Summer of 2025 for the European premiere of the work. In March 2026, Vocalis will perform at the Southern Region American Choral Directors’ Association Conference in Memphis, Tennessee.

Mission

Our treble-voiced ensemble from a state university seeks to elevate and promote music for treble voices. We find something special in this music and in the composers who write specifically for the treble voice and actively seek new voices in choral music. This ensemble is a home for singers from across the university who, though not the most skilled individual performers, work at a high level to elevate their unified performance to a level beyond what is expected. Members of this ensemble arrange their university schedule to participate for their entire degrees because of the sense of camaraderie, musicality, and belonging.

FAU Vocalis is open through audition to all FAU students. Email Dr. Stacie Lee Rossow for more information

To audition, email Dr. Rossow (srossow@fau.edu) to schedule a time.
