Letter From The Dean
Dear Students,
On behalf of all our faculty and staff here in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, I would like to welcome you back to campus for the 2021-2022 school year!
For those of you I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, I am the Dean of the College and look forward to helping you achieve the goals you are pursuing with unbridled ambition! I invite each of you to get outside of your comfort zone and try at least one new activity every week you are in school. Now is the time! Make the most of your college experience by engaging with your fellow students and the world-class faculty and helpful staff here in Arts and Letters.

As always, student safety is a top priority for the college. FAU’s President and the Florida State University System are in regular contact to help manage this changing environment, and I will keep you informed of any developments as they arise. In order to protect all of you and the FAU community, I would like to reiterate President Kelly’s expectations that everyone wear face coverings when inside our buildings, including in classrooms, and that face coverings be worn when in groups outside. I also ask that everyone please get vaccinated; it is the best protection for you and those you care about. Whether this is your first semester here at FAU or your last, we are committed to making sure that your experience is a positive one.
