IoT Vulnerability Identifier

Project 22

Overview

This project introduces Koda.io, an advanced IoT vulnerability-checking device designed to address growing security risks in the IoT ecosystem, including economic espionage costing U.S. businesses up to $600 billion annually. By automating vulnerability analysis with machine learning and hardware testing tools, Koda.io evaluates both network and physical security risks, providing manufacturers with actionable insights to address gaps early in the product lifecycle. The Requirements Specification defines Koda.io’s critical features, ensuring it reliably safeguards IoT devices and mitigates the costly impacts of cyber threats.

Community Benefit

Koda.io offers a solution for identifying vulnerabilities in IoT devices effectively. This innovative device can be deployed both remotely and in lab environments, helping developers enhance IoT security before bringing products to market. The project aims to create an automated IoT vulnerability analysis tool featuring a machine learning algorithm, hardware testing capabilities, and automated IoT protocol testing. Additionally, the device will include hardware testing tools that can analyze the physical aspects of IoT devices. These tools will help identify hardware-specific vulnerabilities, such as insecure ports, outdated firmware, or physical tampering risks. By providing detailed hardware assessments, Koda.io can offer actionable insights to manufacturers, enabling them to strengthen their device security before market deployment.
