IoT Robotic Sensing for Agricultural Applications
Overview
An integrated sensor system which allows managers to be able to monitor water quality remotely using an API and website. Users will be able to view the live status of one or more sensors. Historical data is available to view over time. Management of fertilizer and chemical input decisions will be improved by using this information. Real-time notifications will be sent when the conditions have gone outside the predetermined zone. This device can be used to implement feedback to existing systems to stabilize at predefined setpoints. The device is very flexible and can easily adapt to multiple use cases with different sensors. Thus increasing efficiency and making the system more reliable and autonomous.
Community Benefit
This integrated sensor system will improve the ability to monitor and manage water and soil conditions over a large area and make it easy to determine how much of nutrient or chemical amendments are required to restore conditions back to the desired ranges. Increased precision will give agriculturalists more control over their fertilizer inputs saving cost and inputs. They can actively contribute less to eutrophication and environmental degradation.
