Modular Containerized Deployment System (MCDS)

Overview

Many container ships are equipped with davit systems to support the launch and recovery of lifeboats and other small vessels. In some situations, it may be necessary to keep the davit/payload concealed. The main goal of the project is to design and fabricate a davit system that can be fully containerized within a 2x2 configuration of standard shipping containers.

Community Benefit

This prototype could potentially be used to develop similar systems for the Navy or for research purposes. The concealed aspect of the system lends itself to any launch/recovery operation where inconspicuousness is paramount.
