Kristin Shockley is a senior instructor and has been teaching in the Department of Political Science since 2007. With a background in both history and political science, she teaches a broad array of courses in the sub-fields of American government and politics, comparative politics, and international relations. Her current research focuses on analyzing the dynamic relationship between popular culture and American politics, specifically creating a general framework that can be applied to multiple mediums of pop culture. Professor Shockley is a fellow Owl with bachelor's degrees in Sociology and History from FAU. She holds a Master's degree in Political Science from FAU and a Master's degree in History (Ph.D. ABD) from Emory University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, attending concerts and traveling.
