Dr. Maha Alrehaili earned her Ph.D. in Comparative Studies: Culture, Society & Politics from FAU, where her research explored the intersections of tribal politics, social media, and governance. Her work focuses on how social media and digital platforms shape identity, politics, and society in contemporary life. She has presented widely on topics such as digital tribalism, Middle East politics, and the digital transformation of the Middle East, and her scholarship bridges the fields of political science, communication studies, and technology. Her publication “Cyber Leadership” appeared in the American Intelligence Journal. Dr. Alrehaili has over five years of university-level teaching experience in political science, international relations, and the Middle East. In addition to her academic work, she previously served as a cultural and Arabic language instructor for elite U.S. military units, designing immersive learning experiences for U.S. Special Forces and Navy SEALs. She has served as a guest lecturer at the National Intelligence University and delivered testimony on modern-day slavery before the U.S. Congress and the United Nations. Dr. Alrehaili is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Delta Epsilon Iota honor societies and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She remains active in interdisciplinary teaching, public scholarship, and research on the evolving role of technology in shaping society and politics.
