Jain conference 2025

October 10-11, 2025

The Department of philosophy is pleased to announce that it will host its first conference on the philosophy of Jainism on October 10-11, 2025, on the Boca Raton campus of Florida Atlantic University.

The conference will feature some of the world's leading experts on the philosophy of Jainism, which is an ancient Indian religion focused on non-violence, non-attachment, and the pursuit of liberation from the cycle of rebirth. Its principal goal is to achieve omniscience by living a self-disciplined, ascetic life and its adherents practice strict vegetarianism and ethical conduct, including truthfulness, non-stealing, chastity, and non-possessiveness.
