CME Audition Information Fall 2025
Auditions will take place on Monday, August 18th at 3 pm. We will meet in AL 133, the room next to Studio A. Please arrive early to allow for making sure you have what you need to audition.
For all auditions, prepare the following:
- A song of your choice. Be prepared to perform a cappella, although vocalists will be given the option to sing with a recording. All other instruments should be comfortable performing your part without a recording.
- Prepare your part to “Lose Control” By Teddy Swim. We will provide a recording to play along with. Bass and Guitar should follow the chord progression, but feel free to take the comping into your own hands, I’m not looking for a transcription from the original. Drummers, get the feel and layout of the song, but feel free to add your own flavor to it.
Notes to consider:
- This ensemble will be preparing two sets, a top 40 cover band set and an ensemble-led music selection. You should be ready to learn 90 minutes of music within the first 6 weeks of rehearsal.
- The ensemble will be performing locally at events throughout the semester, be prepared to block out these events in your schedule as they become known.
- I want to see YOU. Bring your creativity to the audition. Don’t be afraid to show your style. This ensemble is a unique opportunity to recreate music that people know with our style, which is comprised of your talent and personality.
