Airports

    • Palm Beach International Airport, the primary commercial passenger serve airport in the northern portion of South Florida's metropolitan area, is just 25 miles north of Boca Raton and serves more than 5.8 million passengers.

    • Just 20 miles south, you'll find Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, the state's fourth busiest airport, with an average of 452 flights per day handled, 12.5 million passengers and 207,276 tons of air cargo.

    • Miami International , 47 miles south of Boca Raton, is the primary connecting point for air travel between the Americas and the Caribbean and is also a major gateway to Europe, making Miami International Airport the ninth busiest passenger airport in the world.

    • The Boca Raton Airport, off of Glades Road at I-95 near Florida Atlantic University, has undergone $10 million in improvements over the last decade. It encompasses 204 acres and is one of six high-activity general aviation airports in the metropolitan area. Boca Raton Airport serves as a general aviation alternative to Palm Beach International and provides aircrafts with a less costly and less congested operating environment. It features a 150-by-5,200 foot lighted asphalt runway with a 5,200 foot parallel taxiway. The 286 corporate and individually owned planes here account for approximately 132,000 aircraft operations a year.

    • The fixed-based operator, Boca Aviation, handles all aviation needs. For services   including charter flights, flight training, aircraft rental, ramp and fuel service, aircraft maintenance, avionics and hanger rentals, call 561/368-1110. The Boca Raton Airport Authority operates the airport. For more information, please call Ken Day, 561.39.-2202 or e-mail to  infor@bocaairport.com.
