School of Architecture Admissions Requirements

Freshman applicants should select pre-architecture on their application for admission. Students will automatically be considered for direct entry into the lower-division architecture program. The program is limited and selective. The deadline for consideration is January 15.

Minimum Requirements for Freshman (Lower Division) Consideration:

  • 3.60 Recalculated High School GPA and 1100 SAT or 22 ACT or 74 CLT

Please note that meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

A portfolio of work is not required for Freshman (Lower Division) applicants.
Students taking dual enrollment courses in science and/or math must earn a grade of “C” or higher.

Students who are considering dual enrollment (while in high school), and are interested in pursuing an architecture degree at FAU, are encouraged to prepare for this program with the following courses:

Please note that there is another admission review process upon completion of your first two years in the lower-division pre-professional architecture program on the Boca Raton campus, and prior to entering the accredited professional Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) program, which is offered in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
