EYEWEAR TECHNOLOGY SECURITY POLICY
At Florida Atlantic University Testing Centers, maintaining the integrity and security of our testing environment is a top priority. To ensure fairness for all test-takers and uphold the standards set by our exam sponsors, we continuously update our procedures to address evolving security concerns.
With the rise of wearable technology—such as Meta Glasses, Google Glass, camera glasses, and other smart eyewear—these devices have been identified as potential security risks. As a result, smart glasses, whether prescription or non-prescription, are strictly prohibited in our testing centers.
To support this policy, a visual inspection of all eyeglasses is now a standard part of the check-in process. This precaution helps prevent unauthorized technology from entering the testing area and ensures a secure and equitable testing experience for everyone.
Any attempt to bring unauthorized devices into the testing center will result in immediate dismissal from the testing session, invalidation of test scores, and notification to the appropriate academic or testing authorities.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to protect the integrity of our exams.
NEW MAKE-UP TESTING PROCedures FALL 2025
Beginning Fall 2025, the FAU Testing Center will implement a new policy regarding make-up exam services. To better support instructional needs and manage testing resources efficiently, make-up exam services will only be available to faculty teaching courses with an enrollment of 100 or more students. To facilitate this change, the Testing Center will offer six dedicated make-up exam slots per day specifically for these large-enrollment courses. This change aims to streamline the make-up exam process, reduce end-of-semester congestion, and better support both students and faculty in managing makeup course assessments.
See our Instructor Resources page for more information.
PROMETRIC CENTER NOW HAS LATER HOURS
The Florida Atlantic Prometric testing center now offers extended hours until 7:00 PM, providing more flexibility for scheduling your exams. Register for your exam at prometric.com, and take advantage of our expanded availability to accommodate your busy schedule.
