The Child and Family Studies Minor encourages interdisciplinary thinking about issues relevant 
to childhood and family structures. By taking classes across a broad set of disciplines, students 
will learn to consider these issues from the level of the individual, family, community, and 
society. This minor will allow students to demonstrate topical specialization to support future 
work in a variety of professional fields, particularly those involving human development, social 
support, law, education, and healthcare.

Requirements:

15 credits from the classes listed below. The 15 credit hours do not include prerequisites that may be 
needed for some courses. Students should consult the Honors College course catalog for any 
prerequisite information.

Classes must come from at least 3 different disciplines, as shown in the table below. 

At least 9 credits must be at the upper level (3000 or 4000 level).

and they must maintain a minimum FAU GPA of 2.0 in the coursework required for the minor.
