Automatic Training Evaluation

Overview

The US Navy has a rigorous training regime that cadets must go through to ensure that they are properly prepared for a career in the Navy. One of the things that a sailor gets trained on is called a valve line-up. A valve line-up requires that the sailor turns certain valves within a system quickly and safely. This task is prone to human error and can affect other systems within the naval environment so ensuring that a cadet is properly trained is beneficial to the Navy. In this project we will develop an automated system  that can determine whether a cadet is proficient at performing a valve line-up. This will be done by monitoring the sailor's vitals for signs of stress or any significant changes.

Community Benefit

This device will make an impact by accelerating the US Navy's ability to determine how effective their sailors are being trained. Then make changes in the training process to produce better trained sailors and reduce the chances of military mishaps that will save more money in the long run.
