Overview

Astronauts aboard the ISS must spend valuable time and energy unloading and storing cargo shipped to them. This time and energy can be spent doing something more productive like research if they can utilize the Astrobee robot for this task. It will allow the process to be autonomous and make things much more organized than what they are right now.

Community Benefit

This system has been able to show a working prototype for the Astrobee team's initial concept which we hope they or another student led team will be able to take forward into the future. We have gotten to talk with other teams working on Astrobee about our system and how it could help with their own objectives, and we have created a new design for mounting objects in space using energy efficient magnet technology.
