Studio Art concentration

Main Campus: Boca Raton

The Studio Art concentration is designed to further the conceptual development, aesthetic presentation, technical skill, and career goals of the M.F.A. candidates. Students can choose to focus on the following studio areas of study: Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking and Sculpture, and Book Arts. These paths of study are designed to

incorporate courses from the range of studio areas should the student desire this type of cross-disciplinary approach and flexibility. The M.F.A. is the terminal degree in studio art disciplines, and graduates will be prepared for careers as professional artists, as well as college and university level instructors.

All candidates accepted into the M.F.A. program will be assigned a first-year mentor from the department faculty. By the end of the second year, the M.F.A. candidates in the studio areas will have selected a three-member committee that will direct them through their exhibition and thesis documentation in the third year.
