Student Life: Student Organizations

Students Laughing Outside

Students join the state, regional, and national professional associations in communication. Both graduate and undergraduate students have read papers at the conferences of several of these associations.

FAU Film and Media Student Organizations

FAU’s Film and Media Student Organizations bring together all majors from across the University who share a passion for cinema, media, networking, and experiential storytelling. Members collaborate to develop and produce short films (10–30 minutes) and other scripted video projects, gaining hands-on experience in writing, directing, acting, and production.

Beyond filmmaking, the clubs serve as a vibrant community space to discuss films, exchange ideas, and build lasting creative connections. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills, explore new roles, or simply connect with others who love movies, TV, or any other media, these student orgs offer a supportive environment to grow, collaborate, and create.

Student Government Agencies

OWL TV, OWL Radio, and The University Press are student-operated media agencies at FAU. Spanning broadcast and print, these agencies produce media for the FAU student community. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities to actively engage in media production.
