The Study of the Americas Initiative Graduate Fellows
The Study of the Americas Initiative at Florida Atlantic University invites applications and nominations for graduate students to act as fellows for the Initiative in 2026-2027. This fellowship is designed to promote graduate study in topics related to the Americas and to connect graduate students with the vibrant intellectual life of campus.
Graduate student fellows will be expected to actively participate in the events organized by the Study of the Americas Initiative, write a short report on each event for publication on social media, organize promotional and outreach activities, and contribute to updating the website.
Awarded students will work with the SAI’s director, Dr. Alejandra Aguilar, and have to commit to meeting at least twice during the semester. A report on their activities will be expected at the end of the semester. Payment is contingent upon completing this work.

The application should include a 2-page CV and a brief application letter explaining how the student’s research interests or creative activities intersect with the Study of the Americas Initiative and how the student plan to contribute to the Study of the Americas Initiative’ mission.
Call for the Study of the Americas Initiative Graduate Fellows

Fellows will receive up to a $500 stipend after completing the activities. This fellowship is designed to promote graduate study in topics related to the Americas and to connect graduate students with the vibrant intellectual life of campus.
