Nancy Dershaw
Nancy Dershaw is the Founder and First President of NEXT GENERATIONS of Holocaust Survivors, which she established in South Florida in 2002. The daughter of Holocaust survivors Esther and Maurice Mandel, Nancy was deeply influenced by her parents’ experiences, courage, and resilience. Their legacy inspired her lifelong commitment to preserving the memory of Holocaust survivors, advancing Holocaust education, and combating antisemitism and hatred. Nancy earned a Master’s Degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies from West Chester University of Pennsylvania while raising her family. Through NEXT GENERATIONS, she has developed educational programs, survivor testimony initiatives, community events, and programs supporting Holocaust survivors and their families. Her community leadership includes service on the South Florida Advisory Board of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Palm Beach Joint District Holocaust Oversight Task Force, and advisory boards at MorseLife and Florida Atlantic University, including the Arthur and Emalie Gutterman Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center and the FAU Dean’s Jewish Leadership Advisory Board.
