As a part of the Vocational Instructional & Business Expo (VIBE) 2025 held by South Florida Education Center (SEFC), MLAB researchers conducted a seminar for High School students speaking about the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Computer Vision.

The main intent of the presentation was to briefly introduce the nascent minds to emerging AI technologies such as Generative AI and shed light on how it shapes research in Computer Vision. The seminar spiked a great deal of interest amongst aspiring AI/ML engineers and Data Scientists among the group.

The enthusiastic students were exposed to engaging demonstrations at the end of the event. Transormation of sketch to photorealistic images along with detection and tracking of people using robotic dogs were demonstrated. The following researchers presented at the AI seminar: Ashan Perera, Christina Pappachan, Martinraj Nadar, Juan Merlos, Vishnu Chinta and Hadise Pishdast.
