The ACM Mile-High Video 2026 conference, held February 2-5 at The Cable Center in Denver, brought together leading engineers, researchers, and industry professionals in media compression and streaming. As a flagship event in video technology, the conference serves as a platform for discussing emerging trends, standards, and practical solutions shaping the future of video communication.

Representing the Multimedia Systems Lab at Florida Atlantic University, PhD student Eimran Eimon delivered a talk titled “Emerging Standards for Machine-to-Machine Video Coding.” The talk highlighted recent advances in coding technologies and standardization activities specifically for machine-to-machine communication, addressing the growing need for efficient transmission of visual data for AI-driven applications such as surveillance, smart cities, and large-scale video analytics.
