FAU Faculty and Graduate Students Participate in the 2026 South Florida GIS Expo

Faculty and graduate students from the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatics Engineering at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) participated in the South Florida GIS Expo, held on August 20-21, 2026. The event brought together GIS professionals, geospatial technology experts, researchers, government agencies, and industry leaders from across the region to discuss emerging trends and innovations in geographic information systems (GIS) and geospatial technologies.

Representing FAU at the conference were Dr. Arockiasamy , Dr. Nagarajan , and Dr. Su , along with several graduate students from the department. During the two-day event, faculty and students engaged with industry partners, explored the latest geospatial technologies and applications, and strengthened connections between academia and the professional GIS community.

A highlight of FAU's participation was the strong presence of its graduate researchers. Four graduate students delivered oral presentations showcasing their recent research findings and contributions to the field:
