FAU Honors 2018 Distinguished Alumni

The FAU College of Engineering and Computer Science held a virtual Senior Design Showcase Award Ceremony in May to recognize the Spring 2020 senior design projects. Faculty, staff, and students voted for their favorite project, and the winner of the People’s Choice Award was the Eswatini Pedestrian Footbridge.

During Spring Break 2020, a group of CEGE students traveled to a remote community in Estwatini, South Africa to construct the bridge, which enables adults and children to cross over the river safely in order to travel to markets and schools. The participating students, who called themselves “Engineers in Action,” were Maximo Bravo, Brandon Caniff, Alexander Hintze, Matthew Maracallo, Esther Mitchell, and Samantha Robinson. Congratulations on a job well done!
