OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT
WLW-ECOS Masters Mentoring Fellowships
The WLW-ECOS Masters Mentoring Fellowships provide comprehensive financial support for incoming graduate students in environmental and marine sciences. These fellowships fund graduate education while providing opportunities to mentor undergraduate ECOS scholars and contribute to solution-oriented environmental research. Fellows work closely with ECOS-affiliated faculty advisors and participate in professional development activities that prepare them for careers in environmental science.
Award Amount: Two years of competitive stipend and tuition support

- Environmental Science MS
- Marine Science and Oceanography MS
- Geosciences MS
- Biological Sciences MS
- Chemistry MS
- Biochemistry MS
- Physics MS
Eligibility
- NEW graduate students from outside of FAU
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Must have ECOS-affiliated faculty advisor
- Solution-oriented environment-related research
- Nominated by ECOS-affiliated faculty advisor
Application Requirements
Personal statement consisting of two essays (750-word limit each) describing:
- Your environment-focused research interests and the impact you would like to make through research and mentoring
- An obstacle and how you overcame it
Research statement (1,000-word limit) describing proposed research
Documents that are required:
- Two personal essays
- Research statement
- Graduate application materials
- Faculty nomination from ECOS-affiliated advisor
- Academic transcript
Fellowship Requirements
- Serve as MS mentoring fellow
- Mentor up to four ECOS undergraduate students per semester
- Conduct solution-oriented environment-related research

WLW-ECOS PhD Environmental Awards
The WLW-ECOS PhD Environmental Awards provide a recruiting bonus for incoming doctoral students conducting solution-oriented environmental research. Fellows work with ECOS-affiliated faculty advisors in interdisciplinary programs focused on environmental solutions.
Award Amount: $10,000
Eligible Programs:
Integrative Biology PhD
Geosciences PhD
Chemistry PhD
Eligibility
NEW PhD students
Current FAU graduate degree holders are ineligible
Minimum GPA: 3.0
Must have ECOS-affiliated faculty advisor
Solution-oriented environment-related research
Nominated by ECOS-affiliated faculty advisor
