Satori Helmet

Abstract

Our team is working on developing a groundbreaking technology that could change the world of healthcare, entertainment, and business. Satori is a helmet that can retrieve electrical signals from the user’s scalp to process and analyze brain waves. This information is then sent to a computer that uses artificial intelligence to train models. For this project, models are able to recognize the small differences in the signals. These signals are associated with what the user is thinking, feeling, or doing. A “left-right” trained model can predict if the user is thinking left or right. Our artificial intelligence model processes the unique brain's waves acquired and creates predictions based upon three choices: left, right, and none. The computer can then perform an action according to the output of the artificial intelligence model. In our case, the output is shown by a remote car which is controlled uniquely by what the user is thinking.  This concept can be used for an array of different situations which include but are not limited to prosthetics, improvement in quality of life for people with disabilities, and entertainment. The concept demonstration of this project will focus on the improvement of quality of life for people with disabilities.
