Biometric Home Security System

Abstract

Home security is an ever-present issue because everyone wants to be secure in the knowledge that the people they love are safe. The main goal of this project is to develop a fully automated home security system that uses biometric information to grant entry to the house and to alert the user in case of unauthorized entry. This is achieved by using biometric data (facial recognition) to secure the home with alerts that go directly to a mobile app designed to give the user access to the system. The system is connected and secured through a cloud-based architecture. The cloud connects with multiple sensors designed to detect and alert the user about unauthorized access and to record any activity during unauthorized access. The videos are sent to the user through the mobile app so the user can easily turn them into the authorities to apprehend the intruder.
