Situation Awareness Device

Abstract

The Situation Awareness Device is meant to act as an electronic guide dog for first responders, the military and the Department of Defense. Our device incorporates a microphone and speaker to communicate with any hostage/enemy negotiations.  A camera installed in the device is used to stream the surrounding terrain and send the date to a mobile application. The device also includes a gas sensor that determines if a location needs to be evacuated due to a large influx of gas that could be dangerous to any citizen/first responders in the area. For communication purposes, the device will include a hotspot in no Wi-Fi areas and if used by the police or military, the device can connect directly to the local Wi-Fi in their vehicle. A 3D housing unit is designed to keep the microprocessor and sensors safe in place. Additionally, the housing will be protected by a shield of wire that wraps around from one end to the other. The wire will be shaped as a sphere in order to absorb most of the impact from being tossed.
