  • Professional Development Training to STEM Teachers in the Middle and High Schools
    • As part of professional development training for delivery of NASA STEM content by the teachers, the FAU project team organized several meetings with the teachers at the Lauderdale Lakes Middle and Lake Worth Community High Schools. The FAU team met with the STEM teachers at the High School and Middle School on August 14, 2019 and August 15, 2019, respectively for a duration of three hours. The FAU research team organized Professional development training workshop for STEM teachers through Webex forum on June 9, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 25 schools in Broward and Palm Beach Counties were invited to participate in the Professional development training in addition to 12 STEM teachers from the NASA STEM participating schools: Lauderdale Lakes Middle and Lake Worth Community High School.
  • Family Café events
    • The research team organized and conducted several family café events in collaboration with the Lauderdale Lakes Middle and Lake Worth Community High School STEM teachers and administrators. The invited guest speakers interacted closely with the families through the Webex Forum and in-person.
  • Planetarium Museum shows by South Florida Science Center and Aquarium
    • The FAU research team organized Planetarium shows at the Lake Worth Community School on January 28, 2020. The planetarium shows on constellations was conducted by the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium. A total of 253 students from Grades 11-12 (Math & Science) participated in the planetarium shows. 
  • Summer Workshop
    • The FAU research team organized a 2-day Summer Teachers’ Workshop for STEM teachers through Webex on August 6 & 7, 2020 from 9:45 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. More than 25 schools in Broward and Palm Beach Counties were invited to participate in the Professional development training in addition to 12 STEM teachers from the NASA STEM participating schools: Lauderdale Lakes Middle and Lake Worth Community High School. An enthusiastic response was received from the Middle School and High School teachers from both Palm Beach County and Broward County. About 19 STEM teachers registered for the workshop and actively participated in the Webex Summer Teachers’ training workshop. Eight guest speakers were invited to provide the Summer Teachers’ training workshop.
  • Drone demonstration at the participating schools
    • The FAU research team conducted a drone demonstration at the Lake Worth Community High School on March 3rd and another drone demonstration at the Lauderdale Lakes Middle school on March 8th, 2022. 28 students from Lake Worth Community High School and 28 students from Lauderdale Lakes Middle school attended the drone demonstration.
