FAU College of Engineering and Computer Science Partners with BDB on Palm Beach County Healthcare Asset Map

The Florida Atlantic University (FAU) College of Engineering and Computer Science has played a key role in developing the new Palm Beach County Healthcare Asset Map , a comprehensive interactive tool launched by the Business Development Board (BDB) of Palm Beach County in collaboration with CEOs from every major hospital in the county.
The Healthcare Asset Map offers an accessible visualization of Palm Beach County’s healthcare landscape, allowing users to explore hospital locations, specialties, and services. Designed to be nefit both residents and professionals, the map also serves as a strategic resource that highlights the region’s rapidly growing healthcare ecosystem.
The project was chaired by BDB Executive Committee Board Member Gina Melby and developed in partnership with FAU, led by Dr. Sudhagar Nagarajan , associate professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geomatics Engineering, with support from President Adam Hasner , Executive Vice President Stacy Volnick , and the contributions of FAU undergraduate student Andrew Hurst .

As Palm Beach County experiences significant population growth and economic expansion, the Healthcare Asset Map underscores FAU’s commitment to community-focused innovation , applying engineering and computer science expertise to enhance regional collaboration and public access to essential resources.”
Phase 1 of the Healthcare Asset Map focuses on hospitals currently operating in Palm Beach County. Future phases will expand to include specialty facilities and hospitals under construction, ensuring the tool remains up to date as the region’s healthcare infrastructure continues to grow.
