picture of trainees and their participation

Our NRT trainees continue to make an impressive impact through conference participation, invited talks, and research contributions.

Nikki Leali was invited by Dean Justin Perry to speak at the FAU Honors College Spring Lecture Series on AI in Jupiter. As part of the event titled “AI and Mental Health – The Good, The Bad, and the Dangerous,” she shared her work and insights on artificial intelligence. Being personally invited to contribute to this distinguished lecture series highlights her growing leadership and expertise in the field.

Samantha Garcia presented at the Florida GeoGebra Conference, which brings together educators and mathematics enthusiasts to explore innovative approaches to making mathematics more visual, interactive, and meaningful. Using the book Exploring Principal Component Analysis, she demonstrated how advanced data science concepts can be translated into impactful educational tools.

In addition, Richelle Williams, in collaboration with Dr. Fernando Koch, has submitted a research paper titled “A Scan-Based Analysis of Internet-Exposed IoT Devices Using Shodan Data.” The manuscript is currently in the pre-screening phase, marking an important milestone in her scholarly contributions.

These accomplishments reflect not only academic excellence, but also initiative, visibility, and meaningful engagement across research, outreach, and professional communities.
