Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence Summit 2024

Our NRT Director, Dr. Borko Furht, was honored to be invited as a speaker at the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit, held in the Republic of Serbia on December 3-4, 2024. The summit attracted numerous high-ranking participants, making it a prestigious event. It was a privilege for Florida Atlantic University to have a representative contribute to such an important global dialogue on artificial intelligence.

According to GPAI news, “This year’s summit was dedicated to advancing the responsible development of artificial intelligence and leveraging AI for societal benefit. Among its highlights was the planned signing of the Belgrade Declaration, focused on these objectives. The event brought together more than 500 experts, including over 70 speakers participating in 25 sessions. A notable attendee was Yoshua Bengio, the renowned Canadian computer scientist recognized for his groundbreaking work on artificial neural networks.

The summit was co-organized by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, the Government of Serbia, the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, the Office for IT and eGovernment, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the support of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).”
