Hacking 4 Defense (H4D) is a nationally recognized, mission-driven experiential learning program that engages students in addressing real-world operational, technical, and human-centered challenges in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense, military units, and national security organizations. Utilizing the proven Lean LaunchPad and I-Corps methodology, participants work on problem statements submitted by DoD sponsors, conduct extensive interviews with end users and stakeholders, and iteratively develop and refine minimum viable prototypes through weekly presentations and feedback. To date, the program has engaged thousands of students across dozens of universities in solving mission-critical national security challenges. NRT trainee, Vinceline Bertrand, was competitively selected to participate in this program, providing a significant professional development opportunity to apply advanced data science and AI skills in a high-impact, mission-oriented environment.
